They discover dinosaurio smaller of North America
A Canadian investigator is shortage the one that is thought that he is dinosaurio smaller of North America, a beast of 70 million years as large as a hen than also he was unusual by his consisting of diet insects.
Albertonykus call borealis, the creature of strange aspect had characteristics similar to those of the birds, like thin legs, short and heavy jaws with form of tweezers and arms with great claws.
Their bones were excavated in 2002 near Network Deer, in the province of Alberta, rich in fossils, between about 20 rest of Albertosaurios, reason why they happened unnoticed.
Dinosaurio shortage is member of the Alvarezsauridae family, of who previously they had been excavated fossil only in South America and Mongolia, Nick Longrich said, partner of investigation of paleontology in the University of Calgary.
The discovery is an evidence that the dinosaurios migrated towards Asia from the part inferior of the Western Hemishpere, said Longrich.
Its investigation on the Albertonykus was published in the magazine Cretaceous Research.
“The majority of the dinosaurios that we know - giant species like the Tiranosaurio, carnivores, or the Triceratops, great herbivores - is great. This thing is very small, around 2 feet and means (about 76 centimeters) of stop and we think that it made something very different: we think that in fact it could have been an insectivore”, added.
It was not preparation to dig, like the awkward people. Their factions were not very different from those from the anteaters, and Longrich said that it seemed that it broke trunks to be able to feed on thermites or escarabajos.
It could have been the prey of other dinosaurios like the Albertosaurio and the Velocirráptor, that could have catched the small and fast beast.
