The warning dream of Mark Twain

Mark Twain, whose true name is Samuel Clemens, continues being more the appreciated writer of America. Been born in the small city of Florida, Missouri, and educated in the near Hannibal, it described to the true book Americans such as Huckleberry Aim. But few people know that, underneath his humor and its cynicism, Mark Twain he was a serious student of the paranormal thing. Its interest in the subject came from the personal experience, the day of 1858 in which it predicted the death of his brother.

The writer was working then like helmsman of a packet boat that made the trip between New Orleans and St Louis. Being in earth during days, one night dreamed that his brother Henry lay in a metallic coffin taking one of the suits of the own Twain. The coffin was suspended between two chairs, and a branch of flowers, with a red rose in center, rested on the chest of the dead. The dream was so vivid that, when awoke, Twain did not realize of which there was been dreaming and it thought that it was in house.

The dream was a tragic end two later. While Twain remained in New Orleans, the packet boat in which worked followed its route by the Mississippi. His brother also worked in that one boat and was in him when a boiler exploded. Henry suffered serious injuries and was taken to Memphis, where he died when the doctor injected to him, accidentally, too much morphine.

When they were preparing to Henry for the burial, some amiable ladies picked up money to buy a metal coffin to him. The corpse was dressed in one the suits of Twain. While the writer cried the death of his brother, a lady entered the room and placed a branch of white roses - with a red rose in the center on the chest of the deceased. Later, the coffin was sent to St Louis, where it was placed in the high floor of the house of his brother-in-law. When Mark Twain visited the room where it was the corpse, it saw that the coffin had been placed on two chairs, it had seen as it in his dream.
