Spain declassified its files Ufos in the decade of the 90, with cases similar to the United Kingdom
Spain declassified between 1992 and 1997 a total of 75 files on sightings of strange phenomena, registered from 1962 and that occupies 1,900 pages, in which a total of 97 different events takes shelter, between that appear cases similar to the dice to know today in the United Kingdom.
According to they confirmed military sources, once declassified by the Air Force, these files were transferred for its consultation to the Library of the Headquarters of the Air Force and at present they are in the Historical File of the Air Force, in Villaviciosa de Odón (Madrid).
Between those documents, they appear cases of sightings of UFOS (not identified flying object) on the part of pilots of commercial and military flights or of captains, seemed to the given case to know today in the United Kingdom in which an airplane of Alitalia almost hits a UFO in 1991.
The Spanish process of declassification began when in May of 1991 the Section of Security of Flight, person in charge of the safekeeping of these archives, sent an internal writing sent to the general in charge of the Division of Army operations of the Air, that proposed its declassification. Or the 14 of March of 1992, the Meeting of Chiefs of staff decided to reduce its level of classification and to leave the decision to declassify or not into the hands of the head of the Air staff.
Finally, in September of 1992 the first files were declassified UFO of the Ministry of Defense. The task was entrusted to the lieutenant colonel of General Staff Ángel Bastida and was concluded by the lieutenant colonel Enrique Rocamora in 1996.
24-11-1974, SIGHTINGS IN DIFFERENT PLACES
In a military official report of 84 pages it is detailed that the night of the 24 of November 1974 several sightings followed one another that began to the 19.30 hours in the island of Gran Canaria, when a lieutenant colonel of the Air Force and his daughter circulated around a highway and saw shining a white light and in the sky that left one short wake. This one moved at a high speed and few seconds later it disappeared.
According to the investigator specialized in these phenomena relates Vicente Juan Ballester, only 15 minutes later, a Fokker-27 airplane of Iberia took off of Tenerife to Las Palmas of Gran Canaria. The night was clear and the airplane flew over cloudy layers when it ascended concerning flight of 2,100 meters. Then the pilots saw, just in front of them, a powerful light that seemed to be to about 300 meters over them and who approached in opposite direction throughout a runner habitually used by the regular aerial traffic of Las Palmas.
When the airplane was crossed the light, Saura commander, who piloted the airship, called to the air traffic control tower of the Canary Islands to inform of which they were being crossed a “traffic coming from Las Palmas”, but the control tower responded that there was no “traffic in that point and no hour”. The operator of the radar did not register any sign of that “light” in the screen that, nevertheless, its “3 crew continued seeing and that ″ remained immovable more located to (this) during a minute.
Later, the military radar, position already in situation of alert alpha, detected to the 20,20 hours an echo noncontrolled in north-northeastern direction while it approached military installations at a speed of more than 900 kilometers per hour. From the outside of the military complex W-8, several soldiers saw a steady light in the firmament or that moved around the center.
Only ten minutes later, to the 20,30 hours, the radar station registered a plan to about 67 kilometers of distance, that was in fact another flight of Iberia that made the Madrid-Tenerife route. The peculiar thing is that at the same time an anomalous echo to 85 kilometers of distance was detected and flying in the direction of the south. When arriving at a distance of 78 kilometers, the plan remained parked until it was crossed commercial flight 281 of Iberia. Immediately later, the unknown plan evaporated suddenly and according to flight newspapers, there was no anticipated aerial traffic to that one hour.
