A recent scientific study seems to demonstrate that Persian the sasánidas ones already used chemical arms long before which pensabamos until now.

An investigator of the United Kingdom said to have found evidences that the predecessors of the Iranians used poison gases against the Roman city of Last, in Eastern Syria, century III D.C (a.d.).

The theory is based on the discovery of rest of about 20 found Roman soldiers in the base of the wall of the city. The findings were presented/displayed during the annual meeting of the Archaeological Institute of the United States.

The study sample that the Persians dug a tunnel underneath the wall to be able to enter the city. Also they ignited bitumen and crystals of sulphur to produce dense poison gases, indicated Simon James, archaeologist of the University of Leicester.

It added that using bellows, or underground chimneys, were able to generate and to distribute mortal steam. Apparently, the Romans dug their own defensive tunnel and when doing it they dug his own tomb.

So that the Persians could less than kill to 20 people in a space of two meters of height or width, and near 11 meters in length, it is that they had superhuman powers battle or they used an ingenious method much more, expressed James.

The group of Romans was unconscious in seconds and died in minutes, added the expert.

The excavations showed that the bodies of the soldiers were piled up by the attackers near the entrance of the defenses dug by the Romans with the purpose of to create a protective barricade before setting afire the tunnel.
