The rays-x and other methods of diagnosis by radioactive images could play a much greater roll in scattering cáncer* than previously the doctors thought. New investigations are shortage that the rays-x cause cancer in cells to which the procedure does not radiate directly.

The new carried out study by a group of Italian investigators, suggests it present estimation that has on cancers caused by radiation originating of tests doctors is very far from being low, and could be carcinogen an important one.

The investigators realised the discovery while they radiated with rays-x experimentation mice, and observed directly that the neighboring cells to the irradiation area were damaged, in spite of not being affected by the radiation. The neighboring cells became cancerigenic, and it thinks that some type of communication cell cell would exist, or some chemical signal among them.

In the experiment, the 62 percent of the mice that received a corporal complete irradiation developed tumors, and died after 23 weeks, compared with a 39 percent of which they were radiated with protection of lead shield.
 
These results represent the first test on the principles by as the neighboring cells to an irradiation area are affected with carcinogenic potential, and implies a re-evaluation of the present estimations on the associated risks of the health to the radiation.
