A ghost in the Cervantes Institute of Gibraltar

The government of Gibraltar has recently yielded a building to the people in charge of the Cervantes Institute so that they develop his activity there. In return, the institution will be made position of the rehabilitation and, in addition, it will have to share the building with an unusual renter: the ghost of a nun who still would inhabit the place.

The lot in which today the building rises welcomed from century XVI the convent of the Favor, until after the taking of the rock by the English it was transformed into naval facilities. Apparently, the convent counted on passages that communicated with a convent of nuns and allowed clandestine encounter with the friars.

According to the legend, a nun who maintained a romance with one of the monks still appears nowadays. Between the witnesses are several workers of the building, who say to have seen the phantom of a woman. Already in century XVIII, the woman of the governor, Lady Anderson, left testimony of her encounter with the nun, who disappeared of her dormitory in spite of being closed. Recently, in 2007, a Maltese citizen assured to have seen the mysterious woman during a dinner
