The chance loved that two Mexican farmers instead of to find a site to seed avocados, would discover the base of an hidden pyramid under grass and earth in the municipality of Aryan of Rosales, Michoacán.

The pyramid, presumably builds of the teotihuacana culture - that bloomed in the region from the 300 to the 850 d.C. -, far it is of being a monolith.

In agreement with specialists of the National Institute of Anthropology and Historia (INAH), it has a rectangular base of four meters of height and 14 of width by 20 meters in length, besides counting on six stepped bodies. To say of the experts, the pyramid is in good state of conservation.

By its type of construction and its materials, the found structure is very similar to the one of the pyramid of the Archaeological Zone of Tingambato, near Pátzcuaro, that has 35 meters basic and 9 meters of height, the archaeologist of the INAH explained Robert González Zúñiga.

Although in the territory that today occupies Michoacán, at the pre-Hispanic time purépecha was developed to the culture, González Zúñiga explained that also other groups existed.

There are regions mazahuas, otomíes and nahuas, reason why it is difficult to say at this moment to which of these cultures corresponds the pyramidal structure, but by the regional location it could affirm that he is not of origin purépecha, indicated.

The archaeologist informed that already knowledge of this site existed, who includes between 12 and 15 hectares, when municipal authorities began to make routes to locate zones of possible ecoturístico potential in 2004.
