No, it's how the Church heals demoniacs in the 21st century, mental illness it sends to psychiatrists.
I don't think when the world spun enough times around the sun demons said "oh, well. its the 'modern' world now, lets go bugger off, shall we?"
Granted this may have not been actual possession (one video is not enough for me to know) but normal rules require an evaluation by a psychologist beforehand, and I'll trust that took place.
Whatever about methods was she "cured"?
Wesley, you are confusing mental ilness with the myth of possession as well as confusing Demons with real, testable phenomenon. Demons, devils et al are nothing more than mythological creatures conjured up in a time when mankind had less wisdom, less understanding of the world and less understanding of science.
What is truly frightening is the fact that today, in the 21st century, people still believe this nonsense.

I acknowledge that demons are not scientifically testable, but I deny that “science” or “verifiable testability” is the sole source of truth in the universe, and is to be used the way some fundamentalists use the Bible.
I acknowledge that it has been asserted that possession is a myth.
I acknowledge that it has been asserted that the human civilization is supposed to have “progressed” beyond certain types of religious belief that the western European enlightenment found objectionable due to various philosophical and political reasons.
I however deny both of those assertions. Based primarily a presupposition that Scripture, Reason, and Tradition are all at lest equal, and most certainly “reason” as defined by the scientific revolution is not the sole arbiter of what a person should or should not believe about reality.
I also deny that people used to have “less wisdom”, less knowledge perhaps, but not less wisdom. Wisdom is not based on amount of fact known or even technological advancement, it is a human ability to use and discern based on the knowledge given.

so wesley… by your view of the world, if someone were to hold a loaded gun to your head and pull the trigger all it would take would be your belief that nothing would happen to make it so.
well science says that your screwed in that scenario, and i tend to think the science would win against your belief
I will not assert my opinion of the validity of possession. But, asinine statements like those stated already only show that common sense is not that common, anymore!
I understand what you are attempting to declare, Wesley. Let this lord of science(Revere) acknowledge that even Darwin announced his folly of evolution. Scientist today believe that the universe is in devolution. Let him also explain the severe increase of mentally ill people today. With all our advancements in science and technology, it appears we're worse off than ever. Everyone seems to be getting SSI in this country, now(bi-polar, ADD, etc.).
But, hey, with all the latest equipment and architectural knowledge at our disposal, since we cannot build pyramids like the ancient Egyptians, they must not really exist!
Funny thing about science is it always opens more questions than it answers.
